Two women arrested for prison contraband in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ga. () – Two women were arrested Thursday night in connection to a possible prison contraband drop, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies patrolling the Davisboro area at approximately 9 p.m. on June 5 were made aware of a suspicious vehicle on the grounds of Washington State Prison. During traffic stop, deputies reportedly “found evidence of a possible prison drop.”

Viviona Smith, 22, of Auburn, Ga. and Kendra Yates, 27, of Duluth, Ga. were both arrested.

Both face the following charges:

  • Trafficking Meth x2, 
  • Trafficking MDMA x2, 
  • Possession Of Meth x2, 
  • Possession of MDMA x2, 
  • Possession Of marijuana with intent x 2, Possession Of marijuana over and ounce x 2,
  • Trading with inmates x 8, 
  • Items prohibited by inmates x 8, Unlawful use of an unmanned aircraft x2
  • Possession of Knife or firearm during commission of crime x2, 
  • Possession of tools during the commission of a crime x2.

Deputies say they located three ounces of meth, five ounces of MDMA, four pounds of marijuana, four pounds of tobacco, a knife, 11 cell phones and chargers a drone with its remote and batteries in the vehicle.

“We take these criminal activities seriously, and we will continue to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law,” said Sheriff Joel Cochran.
