TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man who claimed to have a bomb in his vehicle shut down part of Dale Mabry Highway on Thursday, according to Tampa police.

Officers said Jeremy Johnson, 30, was found passed out behind the wheel of a car placed in reverse gear at the intersection of North Dale Mabry and Columbus Drive.

Police said that after Johnson was woken up by officers, he refused to identify himself or get out of the car. He was accused of smoking out of drug paraphernalia in front of them.

As officers tried to arrest him, Johnson claimed to have a bomb in his car, according to TPD. Traffic was stopped while police searched the vehicle.

Johnson got out of the car about 25 minutes later and was taken into custody.

He was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine, one felony count of driving while license revoked (habitual offender), one misdemeanor count of resisting an officer without violence, one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, one misdemeanor count of possession of drug without prescription, and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.
