Protesters Cause Violence Outside Federal Detention Center in Los Angeles Following ICE Activities, Mayor Releases Statement

I wrote earlier about the ICE actions in Los Angeles and how protesters tried to block the ICE vans from leaving with people.

Mayor Karen Bass spoke out against the actions and said in a statement, “We will not stand for this.”

What did she mean by that? What did she mean to do to stand in the way of federal law enforcement?

You can also see law enforcement moving to grab one of the people and other people throwing things at law enforcement.

While the protest remained largely peaceful, aerial video from AIR7 showed part of the street blocked off by protesters with LAPD patrol vehicles nearby. Video also showed that the Federal Detention Center had been sprayed with graffiti.

LAPD declared an unlawful assembly shortly after 7 p.m., warning individuals they were subject to arrest if they remained in the area.

This is what Mayor Bass has countenanced with her statement, acting as though there’s something wrong with federal law enforcement to detain illegal aliens. The wrong here is how the Democrats are responding and demonizing enforcing the law. They’ve completely gone around the bend at this point defending illegal aliens.

Finally, it looked like LAPD showed up.

We’ll keep you updated on what happens.
