There has been no shortage of drama in Season 2 of The Valley. On the June 3rd episode of the Bravo show, Vanderpump Rules alum Brittany Cartwright is nearing the end of her marriage to Jax Taylor as he continues to rage text all while he’s in an inpatient facility for his mental health.

Jax and Brittany’s separation has been anything but smooth, and the show has painted a troubling picture of Jax. In the latest episode, viewers learned that he might have even bugged their home — an unsettling move that suggests he’s still trying to monitor his estranged wife, possibly to use it against her. Brittany also admits that she has no idea where her $70,000 wedding ring has gone, likely realizing Jax may have taken it.

Brittany Cartwright Reveals Her $70K Wedding Ring Was Missing On The Latest Episode Of The Valley

The conclusion of Episode 8 of The Valley sees Brittany Cartwright back in her home that she once shared with Jax Taylor. With her mother in town to help her with their son, Cruz, — who she announced was diagnosed with autism — she was seen covering the home’s security cameras after sharing that Jax would probably “spy” on her he was undergoing treatment at a mental health facility. While Jax was living in the house, he had covered the cameras so that Brittany wouldn’t watch him while she lived in a rental home with their son.

Brittany FaceTimes Jax’s sister, Jenny, and informs her that Jax had not paid the mortgage on the house since May. Additionally, she shares that she can’t find her wedding rings.

“My wedding ring and my wedding bands are missing,” she alleged. “They’re not in the safe. They’re nowhere in the house. Nothing. Don’t know where they are.”

During The Valley After Show, Jax revealed that he was in possession of Brittany’s very expensive wedding rings. “I have it,” he says. “It’s in my safe.” However, in the same show, Brittany cast doubt on that claim. “I’ve not seen it. I don’t know where it is. He says it’s in a safe. I don’t know though.”

Vanderpump Rules fans will remember that Jax purchased the ring during Season 7. He had it custom designed by celebrity jeweler Kyle Chan — the same jeweler who made Katie Maloney’s ring when Tom Schwartz proposed to her on the show. Jax shared that when his father died, he was given some money and used it to go towards Brittany’s ring. According to Bravo, the 3.14 carat, cushion-cut, white diamond ring cost $70,000.

Brittany Had Plans To Give Her Wedding Ring To Her Son

On the After Show, Brittany shared that she had plans for her wedding ring which included potentially having their son, Cruz, use the ring if he wanted to propose to his future wife.

“I told [Jax] that I wanted to keep it so that I could either put the money in an account for Cruz or if Cruz wants to get married one day, he could use the ring. Like, that’s what I wanted it for. It’s not like I was going to like wear it, or sell it, or anything,” she shared.

However, Jax shared that he and Brittany agreed that the ring would be put in a “trust” for their son. He also explained that he went back to Kyle to ask what was the best thing to do with such an expensive piece of jewelry that would no longer be in use by Brittany.

“I said to Kyle, ‘How do I go about this?’ because Kyle’s the one that sold me the ring, designed the ring. And I kind of wanted to go back to him somehow and [have] him figure all this out. And he said, ‘Well, Jax, the diamond market’s not like it used to be. So, I suggest holding onto it right now for as long as you can.'”

Interestingly, the former couple’s castmate Jesse Lally pointed out that, under California state law, the ring technically belongs to Brittany because “it was a gift.” Jax looked visibly surprised by the revelation. “I have to give it to her?” he asked, to which Jesse simply replied, ‘Yeah.'”

When Brittany was asked on the After Show if she believes Jax sold the ring, she admitted, “Very high chances that he’s sold it.”

Brittany Filed For Divorce From Jax In August 2024

While The Valley hasn’t yet shown Brittany officially deciding to file for divorce from Jax, it has teased an upcoming scene where she meets with a lawyer—who tells her she could file that very day.

According to Bravo, Brittany filed for divorce from her estranged spouse in August 2024, shortly after Jax exited rehab. However, their divorce has yet to be finalized with Brittany sharing on her When Reality Hits podcast in March, “We still don’t know when it’s going to be finalized,” she admitted. “You know, [there are] a couple of things still working on here and there. Hopefully it won’t be much longer.”

Brittany and Jax wed in June 2019, and it was shown in an episode of Vanderpump Rules Season 7. They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.

Interestingly, in an interview with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ I Do, Part 2 podcast in March, Brittany shared that she believed she would still have been married to Jax if it wasn’t for their son, who made her realize that she deserved to be treated better.

“If I didn’t have him, I probably would have stayed with Jax for the rest of my life. I feel like I loved Jax so much and I really was into this life and this marriage with him. I thought he was going to be my forever person. And having Cruz and seeing how I was treated in front of my son really opened my eyes. I think for a lot of women, you just as so blinded by love that you don’t really realize everything that you’re going through,” she shared.

Brittany also revealed that she would never see herself back together with Jax — a statement that many viewers were relieved to hear after everything they’ve witnessed on Vanderpump Rules and The Valley.

“We will never, ever get back together. I know I’m worth so much more. And I know I can do so much better than what he put me through.”
