ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A crash Sunday afternoon temporarily forced all westbound lanes of State Road 528 to shut down in Orange County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The crash occurred before 2 p.m. in the area of mile marker 22, near Wedgefield, FDOT’s FL511 website stated.
On traffic cameras, it appeared some vehicles were making their way around the scene via the right shoulder.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Dodge Dakota and a Ford Transit van.
Troopers said the pickup truck waswas traveling west on S.R. 528 west of Dallas Bulevard in the outside lane. At the same time, the van was traveling west on S.R. 528 in the outside lane west of Dallas Boulevard ahead of the Dodge.
The van came to a stop due to traffic ahead for a lane closure, the FHP said. Witnesses said that the pickup truck did not stop for the Ford Transit in front of it, and as a result, it struck the back of the van.
The pickup truck driver, identified as a 75-year-old Cocoa man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the van, a 64-year-old Orlando man, sustained minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, according to the FHP.
The roadblock in the area has been cleared and the crash remains under investigation.
