Macklemore was the target of a scary situation.

Indeed, the “Can’t Hold Us” singer’s Seattle home was broken into during the early hours of June 8, the Seattle Police Department confirmed to NBC News, as part of a home invasion robbery.

While authorities did not reveal whether Macklemore (real name Benjamin Haggerty)—who shares kids Sloane, 10, Colette, 7, and Hugo, 3, with his wife Tricia Davis—was home at the time of the break-in, officials did share that all three children were present along with a woman who came face-to-face with two men armed with bear spray.

E! News has reached out to police as well as Macklemore’s reps for comment but has not heard back.

The woman—who, according to the police report, was identified as the family’s nanny—alleged that two men entered the house through a patio door shortly after midnight. Describing one suspect as the “taller one” and another as the “shorter one,” she went on to recall that the taller one instructed his counterpart to “spray her,” after which he quickly complied with what was later determined to be bear mace.
