Miley Cyrus is surprisingly modest when it comes to her swimwear.

Cyrus, 32, opened up about her bikini collection — or lack thereof — while chatting during the Tuesday, June 10, episode of the “Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky” podcast.

During the episode, Cyrus recalled seeing memes that were posted about her after her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance, in which she wore nude lingerie and twerked on Robin Thicke.

“There was a couple that were about my body, and people were putting my head on very unattractive things,” she explained. “And I still see that when I put on a bathing suit to this day. I wear very — you would never think — very modest bathing suits.”

Cyrus then got into details of what her swim style consists of, sharing she opted for a tankini on a recent girls trip with one of her sisters and friends.

“Everyone else had on a string bikini except me; I was in shorts,” she confessed. “I don’t even know if people wear tankinis anymore. I was wearing a tank top,” Cyrus added.

The singer went on to explain that her sister hyped her up in her tankini, telling her that it was “cool,” but admitted the look was “what a grandma wears to the beach.”

At that moment, Cyrus realized, “I’m still so insecure about those memes about my body.”

Even though her swim style might be modest, Cyrus isn’t afraid to put her curves on display while out and about.

Last week, she freed the nip in a completely see-through black dress while out and about in New York City while promoting her new album, Something Beautiful.

At the time, Cyrus teamed the look with a black thong, delicate silver jewelry, black shades and a curly updo.
