AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger hosted a roundtable in Augusta on Wednesday.
The event focused on Small Business and Economic Development and was held with Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce at the Pinnacle Club June 11.
Raffensperger said that Augusta remains in a great spot in regards to economic development in the state.
“Then you have the Cybersecurity Center, the research center here, which is bringing in some really, really smart people with PhDs, advanced degrees. And so they’re at the cutting edge of cybersecurity, and that will spin off private enterprises. So entrepreneurial folks will be looking for opportunities there. Then you also then have the medical college, which really puts you at the leading edge of medical technology, medical innovations. So those are three great areas you can live off. Plus it’s just a great place to live,” he said.
When asked about a potential run for governor in 2026, Raffensperger said his future remains “up in the air.”
