Police arrest suspect in connection to deadly apartment shooting in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect Thursday in connection to the deadly shooting that occurred at the Landings at 237 on Wrightsboro Road on June 2.

On June 12, 2025, RCSO investigators detained Levaun Green Jr. in Thomson, Ga. After investigators interviewed him, he was arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

RCSO received assistance from the Thomson Police Department in locating Green.

“This arrest demonstrates our continued commitment to ensuring that those who commit violent crimes in Richmond County will be pursued and held accountable,” said Sheriff Eugene Brantley. “We are grateful for the assistance from our partners in Thomson and proud of the swift work by our investigators.”

This case remains an active investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division at (706) 821-1020 or submit an anonymous tip online.
