TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is wanted on attempted murder charges connected to a celebrity boxing event in Miami last month, according to The Washington Post.

Authorities detained Brown after he was allegedly involved in a fight with several people at the May 16 event hosted by popular streamer Adin Ross.

The former football player later took to social media, claiming he was “jumped” by people attempting to steal his jewelry.

A warrant obtained by The Post stated that video showed Brown punching a man before stealing a gun from a security guard and running toward him. Police said the cellphone video then captured two gunshots ringing out.

The victim was grazed in the neck by a bullet. A struggle ensued over the gun before police arrived, and Brown walked away, according to the warrant. The victim, who said he has known Brown since 2022, was taken to the hospital.

Brown, a former wide receiver, played 12 seasons in the NFL, with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In January 2022, during his second season with the Bucs, Brown took off his jersey and pads in the third quarter of a game and stormed off the field. He announced his retirement from professional football two months later.
