Good morning – StormTeam 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here – let’s have a fabulous Friday!

More of the same rinse and repeat pattern continues today and through Father’s Day weekend. Scattered storms will develop across the coast first and push west of I-95 with the sea breeze. Some storms could become strong with gusty wind and heavy rain. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Heat index values will be over 100°F at times due to very high humidity levels. Rain tapers off every night.

For Father’s Day weekend – While a slight chance of rain will be possible both weekend mornings, the highest chance of rain continues to be through the afternoon and evening. The best time to celebrate dad will be in the morning part of the day – not only will it be drier, it is also the “coolest” part of the day compared to the afternoon. Highs remain in the lower 90s. Be sure to keep an eye to the sky while staying hydrated if you have any outdoor plans over the weekend.

By early next week, rain chances begin to back off just a bit with only isolated showers and storms each day. This will lead to sizzling temperatures in the mid 90s and humidity pushing the heat index to 105°F and higher each day. Heat advisories might be needed by the end of the week.
