Fahim Saleh, a 33-year-old tech mogul, was found brutally murdered in his luxury apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on July 14, 2020.
Sahel’s torso lay on a tarp. His limbs were in nearby garbage bags next to a battery-operated saw used to butcher him. The medical examiner determined later that Sahel was stabbed to death with a knife.
The disturbing discovery was made by a cousin who’d gone to visit Saleh. She had a key fob to operate the elevator that opened directly into his apartment that occupied all of the seventh floor.
Detectives were struck by the extreme violence and at how clean the crime scene was. “This was very calculated, very planned out,” said Steven Stiller, who at the time was a detective with the New York City Police Department’s 7th Precinct.
“This was something diabolical. It was like out of a season of Dexter,” Stiller said in “The Masked Assassin” episode of New York Homicide, airing Saturdays at 9/8c p.m. on .
