The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says two men who were involved in the fight with the victim left the scene in a silver Jeep.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after being shot during a fight with two men on Jacksonville’s Northside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith said at approximately 3 a.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of Harts Road after receiving a call about the shooting.

When officers arrived, Smith said they made contact with the man who is “around his early-30s.” Smith said the man was suffering from a single gunshot wound to his groin.

Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene, Smith said, and took the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Smith told First Coast News one suspect took a gun out during the fight and shot the man.

Afterward, the two suspects fled the scene in a silver Jeep on Harts Road, according to Smith.

“One of the males can be described as a Black male, 6’2″ in height, wearing a black shirt, black shorts,” Smith said about one suspect. “The second male is about 5’8″, wearing a red shirt and black shorts. We’re currently looking for them at this time.”

Smith further stated that JSO has obtained surveillance video of the incident, and said that the sheriff’s office is working to learn the relationship between the suspects and man.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call JSO’s non-emergency number at 904-630-0500. To provide information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
