SOUTH APOPKA, Fla. – A man located with “obvious signs of trauma” early Sunday in South Apopka has died, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the man while responding around 3:30 a.m. to the area of the intersection of E. Ella J. Gilmore Street and Clarcona Road, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The man — who deputies said was between the ages of 18 and 20 — was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the statement reads.

An investigation is said to be in its early stages, according to the sheriff’s office, which described the man’s death as a homicide.

No further details were immediately available.
