Brynn Whitfield announced her exit from The Real Housewives of New York City on June 8, after two seasons on the show. She used her Instagram Story to share a statement titled “A Little Life Update.”
“After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now,” Whitfield wrote. “Last week, Hoppy — the dating app I co-founded and proudly serve as Chief Marketing Officer — hit a massive download milestone. I can’t even put into words how surreal it feels. All I want to do now is pour every ounce of energy into building Hoppy into the #1 dating app in the world.”
Brynn Whitfield Wants To Focus On Other Business Opportunities
The reality TV personality reflected on her time on the show with fondness and thanked fans for their support, saying she was “grateful” to have been given a chance. “It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers,” she wrote. “I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little), and more than anything — I hope there’s a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud.”
Whitfield appears to be moving on, and a recent post on Instagram focused on her dating app. She posted a short video about Hoppy and her employees on the platform on June 14, teasing fans about what is to come. “Notice how ‘Hoppy’ sounds a lot like ‘Happy?’ @hoppy,” she wrote in the caption. The comment section has also served as a platform for fans to express their reactions.
Fans have commented on the post and wished Whitfield all the best for her future successes. “Obsessed with you & your colleagues,” a fan wrote. “Wishing you all the success!!! You work really hard!! Love you,” another person shared. Some fans would love to be best friends with Whitfield because they feel she would be someone great to hang out with. “OMG! Why are we not best friends?! You are SO FAB!” a comment reads.
‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ Cast Are Reportedly Happy About Brynn Whitfield’s Exit
Whitfield’s fans may be happy for her (despite not being able to see her on Real Housewives in the future), but a new report has also claimed that The Real Housewives of New York City are glad she exited the show. “The cast has largely distanced themselves from Brynn, and it was a relief for all of the ladies to hear that she will not be returning,” an insider told Page Six on June 11.
They continued, “Whether or not any of the girls get to hang on to their apples, they’re elated that Brynn has dropped hers. Honestly, they’d be scared to film with her again after the mess she made last season.”
