A Louisiana woman was arrested and charged with several counts of drug possession after police said she allegedly attacked her granddaughter for “stealing her methamphetamine.”

In a news release posted to Facebook on Saturday, the Jennings Police Department announced the arrest of 62-year-old Margo Lynn Pattum on nine charges of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, and obstruction of justice.

According to police, Pattum also allegedly strangled her own granddaughter, described as a juvenile, after accusing her of stealing her drugs.

Jennings Police stated that they responded to a call on Thursday after the granddaughter reported that Pattum “strangled her” because she believed the girl stole her methamphetamine. As their investigation into the alleged incident progressed, police got a search warrant for Pattum’s home.
