The remains have not been positively confirmed as Alfred Munson, the missing man, who was last seen May 24. The Medical Examiner is working to identify the remains.
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office found human remains Friday, while searching for a missing man who was last seen on May 24. The remains have not been positively identified as the missing man, Alfred Waymon Munson, at this time.
The remains were found by a canine team in a wooded area in the 2100 block of Carter Braxton Road in Orange Park.
The District 4 Medical Examiner’s Office will work to identify and examine the remains.
Police found Munson’s car, a blue two-door 2001 Honda Civic, abandoned on Camp Francis Johnson Road near the intersection with Bottomridge Drive in Orange Park on May 27.
Police say there is nothing to suggest a threat to the public.
