ABC recently revealed the 16 contestants headed to the beaches of Costa Rica to find love for a second and even third time on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise. The cast comprises of ten men and six women from recent seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, including those led by Jenn Tran, Joey Graziadei, and Grant Ellis.
Out of the ten men that will be on the lookout for their perfect partner, seven are from Jenn’s season. Spencer Conley, who was eliminated in Week 6, will be one of these men, and it appears that he came with a checklist. In a new interview, the Pet Portrait Entrepreneur shared what he was looking for in a partner.
This Bachelor In Paradise Contestant Named His “Biggest Dealbreaker” When Looking For A Partner
When the contestants of Bachelor in Paradise were announced, fans were all already aware that both Season 21 contestants, Jonathan Johnson and Hakeem Moulton, were cast. However, the show has included five more men from Jenn Tran’s season, who are all looking for their perfect match.
One of those contestants is 32-year-old Spencer Conley, who fans remember for his sweet nature. He was ultimately eliminated in Week 6, but he left a lasting impression on Bachelor Nation fans. They are excited to see Spencer look for love on the tropical shores of Costa Rica, and an added plus is that he gets to reunite with several of the former contestants from Jenn’s season.
In an interview with Access Hollywood after he was announced as one of the contestants for the tenth season of BiP, Spencer dove right in about his “biggest dating deal breaker.”
“I can’t deal with the whole fighting and make up. I need someone with a fully developed frontal lobe… We’re looking for fully formed, so the person I’m ending up with is probably over the age of 25.”
Spencer appears to hint at wanting a woman who is more mature and knows what she wants for her future. Rather than chasing drama or indecision, he seems ready to connect with someone who’s grounded and serious about building a future. He may be in luck as the six women of Week 1 appear to want the same things in life.
Hopefully, one of these ladies will also have no issues with his rather funny red flag. During his interview, Spencer shared that he was not a fan of someone who puts their shoes on “sock, shoe, sock, shoe.” Rather he wants someone who who puts their shoes on in “sock, sock, shoe, shoe.”
When it comes to Spencer’s green flag, he shared that he just wants someone who is kind all around. “Someone that just treats everyone the same, whether it be a waiter, someone that they’re trying to impress, whatever it may be. Just being kind to people is a huge green flag,” he said.
Spencer Admitted To Going On Just “One Date” Since His Time On The Bachelorette
Spencer’s journey on The Bachelorette ended in May 2024, when filming wrapped for Jenn’s season. In an interview with the Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast in November, his love life hasn’t been nearly as eventful as fans might expect from a reality TV alum. In fact, he shared that he had just gone on one date since his time on the show.
“I’ve been on one date. It was someone I knew before the show, we were just friends/acquaintances, and we went on one date. And it was an awesome date. She doesn’t live in Dallas, so that didn’t really pan out,” he admitted.

Before he was announced as a BiP Season 10 contestant, he told the podcast hosts that he would definitely be up for another opportunity to find love. It appeared that Spencer was willing to do whatever it took to find his perfect match.
“If I were single… I am single right now, but I’m actively looking to find my person. Like, that’s the whole reason I was on the show,” he said.
Spencer continued, “That’s kind of my North Star right now is finding my person, starting my family. But if the time rolls around and I’m still single, there are some fantastic women that have been through the franchise. I’m not super familiar with anyone outside of everyone on Joey’s season.”
These Are The Six Women Headed To The Beach On The First Week Of BiP
Interestingly, one of the women set to join Bachelor in Paradise in Costa Rica has already expressed interest in Spencer, hinting at a potential connection before the season even begins. In her own interview with Access Hollywood, Jessica “Jess” Edwards, who was on Joey Graziadei’s Season 28, expressed wanting to get to know Spencer.
“He’s definitely my number one pick,” she told the host.
However, we could see Spencer possibly hitting it off with Zoe McGrady, who was a finalist on Grant Ellis’ season. In her own interview, Zoe shared that she was looking for someone who would choose her first. “I am looking for a level of safety… someone who is choosing me and wants to be loyal, and supportive and kind and funny.” When Spencer was discussing his needs for a potential partner, he also shared that he hoped to find a woman who “puts me first.” That certainly sounds like a perfect match!
Of course, more potential matches will be heading to the beach. So far, there are only six women who have been announced for the first week of BiP. Those women include:
- Alexe-Anne “Alexe” Godin, 28
- Bailey Brown, 28
- Jessica “Jess “Edwards, 26
- Katherine “Kat” Izzo, 28
- Lexi Young, 31
- Zoe McGrady, 28
Spencer also shared his two qualities he’s looking for in a partner during his interview on the Golden Hour podcast.
“Number one and two, really high up there, is someone with a positive outlook on things,” he shared, “I’ve dated people that have a very morose, negative outlook and it’s draining.” His second quality is looking for someone he could “lean on” in times of stress or trouble.
“The number two that would be very high up there. When I’ve been in those moments where life has knocked me down, I need to have that partner that can stand up and be there for me to lean on,” he told the hosts.
Here’s hoping Spencer and the rest of the BiP Season 10 cast find love on the beach.
