Good morning – Storm Team 3 Meteorologist Alysa Carsley here – let’s have a fabulous Tuesday!

Our mornings will start very similar to last week – warm and muggy with lows in the mid-70s. The biggest difference in our sizzling new pattern will arrive in the afternoon.

While the last few days have been hot, with feel-like temperatures as high as 100 degrees, the next few days will be even hotter. Due to high pressure anchored to the east coast, this will put us in a drier pattern, meaning very little heat relief.

Temperatures will quickly jump into the upper 80s by lunchtime with humidity increasing feel like temperatures to around 100 degrees. Quickly through the afternoon, underneath a mix of sun and clouds, highs will climb into the mid-90s with heat index values around 105 degrees.

Only a stray shower is possible each afternoon so if you see the rain, you will be one of the lucky ones! Make sure to take frequent breaks from the heat and enjoy the a/c.
