SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A car could be seen flipped over following a high-speed chase on Ogeechee Road Tuesday evening.
‘s Sarah Smith witnessed a car driving at what seemed to be high speeds on Ogeechee Road near Mullis B Lane Boulevard. She then heard a crash and witnessed a car turned over.
‘s Christine Queally spoke to GSP on the scene. The blue Dodge Charger that flipped was not a trooper, but the suspect in the chase.
Reportedly, the Charger hit two other cars while trying to get away from GSP.
GSP also hit one other car, but the damage was minor.
The suspect was reportedly wanted in connection to numerous armed robberies and home invasions. The car was also reported stolen, officials told .
Troopers attempted to end the pursuit, but the fleeing charger hit the curb, and the car overturned. After the car overturned, the driver was ejected.
Approximately 6:37 p.m., the Savannah Police Department notified GSP and asked for assistance with a stolen car near Chatham Parkway, a GSP spokesperson said. A Trooper located the Charger located the car and attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the driver drove off.
After the crash, the driver began to flee on foot but was caught.
witnessed a man was put in handcuffs on the scene. Officials told that the suspect was taken from the scene in an ambulance to be evaluated.
Troopers and Savannah Police officers are on the scene.
