EXCLUSIVE: 9News can reveal high-profile Sydney Rapper “Chillinit” has been arrested and charged with multiple offences.
The allegation is that he pushed his wife during a heated confrontation at Humphrey’s Hotel at Hurstville on Saturday night.
Speaking exclusively to 9News, the rapper, whose real name is Blake Turnell, strongly denied the allegations.
“It’s pretty upsetting, I would never ever do something like that and anyone who knows me, including my family and partner would vouch for that.”
“There was an incident involving a couple of people and I’ve tried to diffuse it… in hindsight I probably should have walked away, lesson learned there,” the 31 year-old said.
Turnell was arrested on Saturday night and has already pleaded guilty to the charge of malicious damage, which relates to a broken shop window. He has offered to pay for the damage.
His lawyer, Ahmed Dib said he is certain the charges will be dropped.
“CCTV footage we’ve viewed so far shows he’s not the instigator… he was the person trying to difuse the situation,” he said.
In a statement, NSW Police told 9News they arrived at the scene just before midnight on Saturday.
“About 11.40 on Saturday, June 14 202,5 Police were called to Forest Road, Hurstvill,e following reports a 31-year-old man had allegedly pushed a 29-year-old woman before kicking a glass door, causing it to crack,” they said.
Officers attached to St George Police Area Command arrested the 31-year-old man at the scene before he was charged with common assault (DV) and malicious damage.
Turnell returns to Sutherland Court on July 30.
