Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live Renewed Through 2027

There was great news in Bravoland last week when it was announced that Andy Cohen’s talk show, Watch What Happens Live, was officially renewed. The pickup confirmed that the reality TV show will have at least an additional two seasons, running until 2027.

After a year of wild news about Bravo’s programming (including rumors that some Real Housewives offshoots might be coming to an end), fans of Andy’s will no doubt be delighted to hear that his late-night show is still going strong. Andy took time to share the news with his followers and to reflect on what has become a long-standing legacy from his time at Bravo.

Andy’s Talk Show Is Picked Up For Two More Years

Just this past week, network Bravo announced it had made the choice to renew Andy’s show for an additional two seasons, confirming his contract (which is also held through Bravo and NBCUniversal) through 2027. In addition to his hosting duties, Andy’s development deal with the company was also extended until 2028.

To share the news with his fans, Andy took to his personal Instagram account. Under a photo of him smiling onstage holding a microphone, he wrote a heartfelt caption detailing the news of WWHL‘s extension:

Bravo announced today pickup of “WWHL” through 2027, and a continuation of my role as Reunion Host, and as Executive Producer of the “Real Housewives”. To say I’m thrilled to continue doing what I love – more than 20 years after starting at the network – is an understatement! Thank you for hanging with me!

On top of ringing in his 20 years working at Bravo, this year also marks the 15th anniversary of Watch What Happens Live, a very special milestone for Andy. His WWHL tenure is significant in other ways, too, as he’s largely considered to be the first openly gay late-night TV show host.

Andy Has An Extensive Reality TV Resume

Longtime fans of Andy’s will know that Watch What Happens Live is a bit of a crowning achievement in his career. Certainly it wasn’t the place where his reality TV career began; he originally started as an executive producer on the Real Housewives franchise, and some of his first onscreen appearances took place when he hosted the show’s reunion episodes.

It was from these experiences that Andy’s interest in being a talk show host truly took root. Not long after, he debuted Watch What Happens Live (which, at the time, was almost more of an experiment, by his own definition) in 2009. The talk show was unique from others in that it focused on reality stars from the greater Bravo universe instead of cast members from just one show, pulling from the network’s large pool of talent.

In the official press release for the pickup announcement, Bravo elaborated on how singular the show has become within the TV landscape:

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen is the only live, interactive show in late-night television, offering viewers an unprecedented opportunity to interact with their favorite celebrities and Bravolebrities in real time by participating in live polls and asking questions both virtually and in-studio. The critically acclaimed talker consistently dominates the pop culture conversation with irreverent, candid and hilarious moments that audiences don’t see anywhere else.

“Whether it’s Hillary Clinton Pleading the Fifth, Nicki Minaj doing a ‘shotski,’ or Jon Hamm and John Slattery delivering an iconic Clubhouse Playhouse performance, you never know what’s going to happen in the Bravo Clubhouse – the only guarantee is a real good time,” the network added.

Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen currently airs Sunday through Thursday evenings on Bravo and streams on Peacock the following day.
