CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Kayla Brown and Joshua Gavel joined WCIA’s Taylor Mitchell to talk about the upcoming Toast to Taylor Street event.
This event will take place in downtown Champaign and is part of a summer-long block party series. Each June, the SoundBridge Foundation gets to collaborate with Uniting Pride – The Up Center of Champaign County to bring a pride festival to downtown Champaign.
The event will have a street fair element including crafts, the Uniting Pride tent, and a number of bands and musicians who will be performing. A two-hour drag show performance will then be put on by The Up Center.
The event will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday. Toast to Taylor Street will also include cooling stations, ice water and misting fans to combat the high temperature.
