Congratulations are in order for 16-year-old Nakoa-Wolf. The teenager has been tapped to star alongside his father, Jason Momoa in the upcoming third installment of the Dune franchise. 

Per Deadline, in Dune 3, Nakoa-Wolf will portray Leto II, son of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya). Silo‘s Ida Brooke has also signed on for the project, portraying the role of Ghanima, Leto’s twin sister. 

So just what can fans expect from this third and final film in the Dune realm?

According to the outlet, Denis Villeneuve’s third and final Dune film will adapt Frank Herbert’s novel “Dune Messiah,” which is set 12 years after the events of Dune. Dune: Messiah will follow Atreides’ struggles with the consequences of his Fremen-led jihad upon his ascension to Emperor Muad’Dib.

Dune is a sci-fi franchise from Legendary Pictures, distributed by Warner Bros., adapted from Frank Herbert’s acclaimed, Hugo Award-winning novel series. The cinematic adventure began with Dune: Part One in 2021 and continued with Dune: Part Two in 2024, both projects were directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Together, the films have grossed over $1.12 billion worldwide and earned a total of 15 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture nods for each, taking home eight Oscars overall. Expanding beyond the big screen, the universe recently grew with Dune: Prophecy, a Max prequel series set 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides. 

In the franchise, Momoa portrays the role of Duncan Idaho, the resurrected ghola.

In addition to daughter Nakoa-Wolf, Momoa also shares 17-year-old daughter, Lola Iolani with actress, Lisa Bonet. The couple married October 2017. The couple later split in January of 2022.
