SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department will debut the improvements to the Ben Van Clark/Live Oak Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 25 at 3:30 p.m.
Multiple enhancements have been made to the park as part of the City’s Recreation Re-Imagine — an initiative designed to improve recreation offerings citywide. Upgrades for the park include a new splashpad, upgraded pavilion, new water fountains, signage and upgrades to the basketball court.
The improvements totaled $129,700. That is a portion of more than $600,000 that has been invested in District 2, and more than $4 million invested citywide, in upgrades to recreation infrastructure through Recreation Re-Imagine.
City leaders and staff will be on site to officially open the splashpad and celebrate the other improvements. The event is free and open to the public. All residents are encouraged to attend and join in the celebration.
