DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Danville Farmers Market is taking extra steps to make sure everybody can have access to fresh products.

This weekend they’re introducing the Personal Shopper Program. It lets people who can’t easily walk through the market themselves order up to five items per visit.

President of the Danville Farmers Market board, Susan Franklin, said it’s built with convenience in mind for those who need it.

“The population is older and they struggle with mobility issues; we have multiple people who struggle a lot with mobility. So it’ll be great for older people,” Franklin said. “It’ll be great for parents who don’t want to haul their kids out of the car seats. It’ll be great for somebody that just wants to come in and out very quickly, maybe can’t handle the heat, the sun, whatever.”

It’s a busy week for the Farmers Market. The program starts on Saturday and this Wednesday is the start of ‘Wednesday Night Markets.’
