Blake Lively’s trainer, Don Saladino, offered his expertise for Chip and Joanna Gaines’ home gym.
“GYM REVEAL 📍Waco, Texas,” Saladino, 48, captioned a Thursday, June 19, Instagram Reel. “Thank you to Life Fitness, Hammer Strength, Lisa, & Cettina for all your effort in getting this fun project put together. It’s amazing what you can do with 219 sq ft. If you think you don’t have enough room, guess again. Take a look at this before & after.”
In the clip, Saladino shared that he started working with Chip, 50, and Joanna, 47, “close to a year ago.” After forming a partnership, the fitness expert decided it was time to give the HGTV couple’s home gym a “makeover.”
“It’s a fantastic space,” Saladino said in the video as he walked into the room which had a wall of mirrors. “Great ceiling height, and we’re going to convert this into a full gym.”
Saladino got to work by bringing in some equipment from Life Fitness including a full rack of dumbbells, a treadmill and more.
“I feel like I’m channeling the Fixer Upper right now,” Saladino joked, referring to Chip and Joanna’s renovation show. “It’s time to get Chip and Jo and show them the reveal.”
Much like Saladino, Joanna couldn’t help but poke fun at the role reversal.
“Ready to see your Fixer Upper?” Joanna said. “It’s more fun being on this side.”
Saladino brought the duo into the upgraded gym and they were impressed. Chip jumped on the treadmill right away to give it a try.
“Don’t break it on the first day,” Saladino teased Chip.
Joanna, for her part, acknowledged how Saladino was able to add more equipment into the room without making the space feel smaller. As Chip and Joanna explored their new fitness area, the pair decided to test it out by performing a few exercises.
“A huge thank you to Joanna & Chip for just being awesome,” Saladino said. “Love you both.”
Saladino is a well known fitness coach who has worked with tons of celebrities including Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, over the years.
Lively took to the comments section of Saladino’s latest post to show her support, writing, “Are you ready to see your Fitter Upper?!”
In addition to training Lively, Saladino has become good friends with the It Ends With Us star.
“Blake isn’t just a client — she’s one of my dearest friends. For over 15 years, she’s shown me nothing but genuine kindness, loyalty, and heart,” Saladino wrote via Instagram in July 2024 alongside a photo of him and Lively from the Deadpool and Wolverine premiere. “Fair weather friends are not friends. We love you, B. You’re always lifting others up. It is one of the many reasons [wife] Mel and I love you so much. You’ve always been there for me, and you’ve always had my back.”
