The 44-year-old recently appeared on the Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff and was questioned by the influencer as to why he has so many children.
The Masked Singer host joked with Althoff saying, that it is because he thinks of himself as a “king.”
“Why do I have so many kids? I have a king complex,” Cannon responded during the interview. “You know, Black men, we always be like, ‘What’s up king?’” He continued, “I really think I’m the king”
Athoff asked, “So you need to have… do kings have a lot of kids?”
Cannon responded, “yeah.”
Althoff went on to ask Cannon if he could list all 12 of his kids’ names. To which he replied, “I usually get in trouble,” Cannon replied.
Then the Wild ‘N Out host gave it a good try, attempting to name all of his children, but left out two.
“I know all of them, but like. Here we go. I’ll lay them all out for you,” Cannon continued. “Keep me honest. There’s Roc, Roe, Golden, Powerful, Rise, Onyx, Legendary, Zion, Zillion, Zen, and….see this is where. How many [are left?]”
“You’re missing two,” Althoff pointed out.
“I’m missing two,” he agreed.
So will Cannon be adding to the brood anytime soon? Well, in a previous interview with People Magazine, the Drumline actor explained that although he’s “not against” it, he has no plans of adding number 13 soon.
“I really don’t know. I’m being honest. I’m having so much fun in this space right now, and the way my bank account is set up, I’m going to press hold on this 12 for right now,” he told the outlet. “But. I was just speaking of three years from now [or] five years from now, who knows? I’m not against it.”
“There was a point in time where I was just like, ‘Nah, I’m done.’ And, then I was like, ‘Who am I to say that?’ ” he added. “It seemed like it was such an emphatic thing. I never imagined that I would have 12 kids. So, it’s one of those things where I love children. I love my life, and if it could keep going in the direction that it’s going, why not?”
Cannon shares his 12 children with six different women.
His children include: Twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with whom he shares with Mariah Carey; sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon and daughter Powerful Queen whom he shares with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
