The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the two men were found fatally shot early Saturday morning.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An 18-year-old man is facing murder charges in connection with a deadly double shooting early Saturday at a shopping complex on Baymeadows Road, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Police responded around 3:30 a.m. to the 9500 block of Baymeadows Road regarding a reported shooting.
Officers found two men identified as 19-year-old Rubisnney Giraldo-Mina and 41-year-old Larry Baldwin Sr. suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police said the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Larry Baldwin Jr., attempted to provide first aid to one of the victims as officers arrived on the scene.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to the scene and officials pronounced both victims dead.
Police said Baldwin Jr. was detained at the scene.
JSO later confirmed to First Coast News that one of the victims is the suspect’s father.
Homicide detectives interviewed Baldwin Jr. and police said their investigation found he shot the two victims during an argument.
Baldwin Jr. was arrested Saturday afternoon on two counts of second-degree murder and is now being held in the Duval County Jail.
JSO said it will work closely with the State Attorney’s Office as the case proceeds.
