Storm Team 3: Sizzling heat continues into this week
Share and Follow

Another hot and humid day is ahead, with high temperatures climbing into the low to mid-90s and heat indices reaching the triple digits. If you’re spending time outdoors, be sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen, as the sunshine continues to dominate the forecast.

This heat is being driven by a “high-pressure sandwich” — a setup where high-pressure systems from the north and east move in, trapping hot and dry air over our region. As this pattern locks in, expect the heat to intensify in the days ahead.

Through the middle and end of the workweek, temperatures will continue to rise into the mid to upper 90s, with heat indices approaching 110 degrees. This is shaping up to be the hottest stretch of the year so far, and heat advisories may be issued.

Please take precautions during this extreme heat:

  • Stay cool and hydrated
  • Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours
  • Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles
  • Wear light-colored, breathable clothing
  • Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

Unfortunately, this hot and humid trend isn’t going anywhere soon — so plan accordingly and prioritize your safety.
