CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — National HIV Testing Day is quickly approaching, and the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is urging community members to stay safe by getting tested.
On Friday, June 27, CUPHD staff will provide free HIV and syphilis testing at the Walgreens in Champaign, located at 1509 S. Neil Street. The free testing will be available from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“Stop by our mobile unit for fast, confidential testing on National HIV Testing Day. No appointment needed. Just show up!” the health district wrote in a post on Facebook.
If you can’t make it this week, the CUPHD said you can find a testing site near you here.
National HIV Testing Day was first observed 30 years ago. Organizers said it’s meant to encourage people to get tested so that they know their health status and have the ability to connect with care and treatment.
