Trump: Iran's retaliatory attack on US base is Qatar 'very weak'

() President Donald Trump responded to Iran’s missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar, calling the nation’s attempt a very weak response.

Trump took to social media to express his thoughts.

“Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” he said.

“I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE. I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump said Iran fired 14 missiles, with 13 of them being knocked down. One of them was “set free,” because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction.

Before the attacks, the United States on Monday previously said it was closely monitoring potential threats after explosions were heard in Qatar. Trump said Iran gave prior notice of the strike.

A U.S. Defense official confirmed to that “Al Udeid Air Base was attacked by short-range and medium-range, ballistic missiles originating from Iran today at this time there are no reports of U.S. casualties.”

Iran, in the past, has threatened American forces at Al Udeid Air Base, which hosts the forward headquarters of the U.S. military’s Central Command.

Reacting to the attack, Bahrain, home to the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters, says it is temporarily suspending flights in its airspace.

No Qataris were killed or wounded in the attack as well.
