Katy Perry is set to kick-off a four-night run at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre this week, but some fans fear it may all be called off. 

Arriving at Kingscote Airport, the 40-year-old US pop star engaged with fans before heading to Southern Ocean Lodge above Hanson Bay.

While signing autographs and posing with fans, the singer dropped a bombshell – she had been sick with a ‘random fever’.

During a brief interaction with a man, the Firework singer mentioned that she had been unwell the previous night, battling a random fever and trying to avoid getting sick.

In footage obtained by 7NEWS Adelaide, Katy could be seen keeping a cautious distance from fans where she could after stepping off a private jet.

Despite feeling unwell, she made sure not to show it as she sported a wide smile during her friendly interactions with fans. 

Katy will kick-off her first show in Adelaide on Thursday, with concerts also scheduled in The City of Churches for Friday, Sunday and Monday. 

The hitmaker surprised locals in South Australia after flying into the region by private jet for a week long vacation ahead of her shows there.

The American pop star, who is on the Aussie leg of her Lifetimes Tour, took a break for some relaxation with daughter Daisy Dove, four, at a five-star lodge. 

Stays at the luxury, award-winning Southern Ocean Lodge comes in at a whopping AUD$3,400 per night.

Sources close to Katy say she intends to live in the house in the future once the short term rental is finished. Her rep declined to comment. Chris did not respond to a request for comment.

Katy’s about-face comes amid rumours that she and Lord of the Rings actor Orlando, parents to four-year-old Daisy Dove Orlando, are about to pull the plug on their six-year engagement.

Recent reporting suggests setbacks in Katy’s faltering pop career have seeped into her personal life.

Her latest album 143 was panned as stale and derivative by fans and critics alike, with some calling it her worst release to date.

Sources have also told DailyMail.com that she and Orlando argued bitterly over her widely derided 11-minute Blue Origin trip into space in April.

The flight became a PR disaster when Katy was mocked for her antics including holding up a daisy in zero gravity – a nod to her daughter – and dramatically kissing the earth on touchdown.

She received little to no support from Orlando who blasted the ’embarrassing’ debacle during an explosive row, according to our reporting.

‘He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous,’ a source in Katy’s camp told DailyMail.com.
