New AI tool helps veterinarians focus on what matters

TAMPA, Fla. (BLOOM) — Long hours. Endless documentation. Burnout that drives professionals out of the field. These are the everyday challenges facing veterinarians, and one startup is taking direct aim at them with a major announcement.

Scribenote, the Andreessen Horowitz-backed company that pioneered AI-powered scribing for vets, is now offering its core product for free. The new Free Plan includes unlimited AI-generated SOAP notes, team collaboration features, and access to smart support tools, all designed to slash administrative workload and help vets reclaim time with patients.

“Veterinarians didn’t choose this profession to drown in paperwork,” said Ryan Gallagher, Scribenote’s co-founder and CEO. “They chose it to heal, to help, to connect. Documentation used to be a big part of the job, but we changed that.”

The timing couldn’t be better. A growing number of clinics are facing a staffing crisis and rising burnout. The industry still leans heavily on outdated software built decades ago, requiring vets to spend hours each day manually entering notes. Scribenote aims to eliminate that burden with an AI engine that listens to appointments and generates medical records in minutes — no typing required.

The platform tripled its user base in the last year, even as dozens of other AI scribes entered the market. With this new Free Tier, Scribenote removes the last remaining barrier to adoption: cost.

“Cost should never be a barrier to getting home on time,” Gallagher said. “AI is becoming smarter and more affordable. We want to pass those savings on to the people who need it most.”

New users also receive a 14-day free trial of the Pro version, which includes premium tools like multilingual support, custom adaptive templates, and live customer service.

Since launching in 2019, Scribenote has grown from a side project for Gallagher’s sister, a practicing vet, into the most widely adopted AI scribe in veterinary medicine. The company says another product is already in development and is expected to launch later this year.

Veterinarians across North America can sign up today for free access at scribenote.com.
