Travis Page is the District Attorney for the Thirty-Eighth Prosecutorial District, serving Gaston County. He was appointed by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Locke Bell in July 2021. Page, a Republican, ran for election in November of 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Page was a Partner at Arthurs & Foltz, LLP. Previously, he was an Adjunct Professor at Cleveland Community College and an Assistant District Attorney for Gaston and Wake counties.
Page graduated from Cherryville High School in 2002. In 2006, he graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone with honors with a bachelor’s degree in political science and minors in both criminal justice and business administration. He received his law degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s School of Law in 2009. He was admitted to the practice of law in the same year after passing the North Carolina Bar Examination.
Page interned with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office while in law school and he took his first job with the office after graduation. In November 2010, he became an Assistant District Attorney in the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor working under Locke Bell, Page handled thousands of cases, ranging from traffic matters and DWIs to serious felonies.
In 2012, Page accepted a position with Arthurs and Foltz LLP, where he has practiced law from August 2012 – July 2021 and where he has been a partner for the past four and a half years.
Appointment
In June 2021, Page was appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Locke Bell. He took the oath of office as Gaston County’s district attorney on August 2, 2021. The unexpired term Page filled ended in December of 2022. In November of 2022, Page ran for election for the Thirty-Eighth Prosecutorial District.
