A Louisiana man was charged with killing his mother, who was discovered in a trash can on Sunday.

Lisa Lloyd, 65, was found deceased in a trash can under a carport at her Opelousas home. Her son, Aaron Lloyd, 33, who was arrested in Krotz Springs, told police he injected his mother with methamphetamine before fatally beating her and putting her body in a trash can outside her home, according to KADN.

Aaron Lloyd allegedly admitted to killing his mother before police got involved. Residents reported a foul smell coming from the victim’s home prior to the grisly discovery.

Aaron Lloyd is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated second-degree battery, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, and distribution of schedule II drugs.

A motive remains undisclosed. According to KADN, Opelousas police said additional arrests could follow as their investigation continues.
