Jacquie Beltrao has shared an update with fans as she revealed her four-year anniversary of not finding cancer in her scan. The Sky Sports presenter, who was first diagnosed in 2013 before having a mastectomy, has publicly told her followers that she is still “cancer free.” The former Olympic gymnast has been working as a sports presenter for Sky for over 30 years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction. However, in 2020, during lockdown, she found a lump below her collarbone that was the size of a grain of rice.

Doctors told her that it was stage four breast cancer and much more aggressive. Yet, within weeks of taking the olaparib therapy drug, Jacquie was told that the disease had slowed down.

Taking to Instagram, she posted a snap of herself walking on a beach with her two dogs. She penned: “Four years ago today, my oncologist rang to say the best words you can hear as a stage 4 cancer patient: ‘no evidence of disease’ There was nothing unusual on my scan, it was clear. It should have been an amazing feeling, but we also got news from Brazil the same day that my mother-in-law had suddenly died.

“It is strange how life can take away something so precious and then give something so precious at the same time. It was a roller coaster of emotions type of day. @mreduardob was trying to scramble a flight but couldn’t get the right Covid test – we cried and cried – sadness and disbelief.

“I’m still, according to the scan, cancer-free. I hope it lasts. I hope nothing is hiding and you just never know. But feeling lucky to be in this position (considering) and remembering our lovely Anna Beltrao today. I have an angel.”

Many of her fans flooded the comments section with words of support. Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins left a simple red heart emoji, while another fan said, “Nice one, Jacquie. Keep smiling.”

Jacquie was previously fighting stage four breast cancer, having undergone chemotherapy and a mastectomy over a decade ago. Almost five years ago, she was told the tragic news that the disease had returned.

However, thanks to an incredible drug called olaparib, she was able to fight off her cancer, and the 60-year-old is now free of the disease.
