The Valley Season 2, Episode 11 Recap: Bitter Friends Make Amends?

In the previous episode of The Valley, Jax Taylor left rehab after completing 30 days as he sought help for his mental health. However, he already appeared riled up when he learned that Brittany Cartwright’s friends had turned his bar, Jax’s Studio City, into “Britt’s,” a clear sign of support for her amid their rocky relationship.

As Jax enters the real world, he moves out of his and Brittany’s home, and, while unpacking in his new condo, gets served divorce papers. Meanwhile, tensions escalate elsewhere as the Caperna’s continue to call out Danny Booko’s alleged drinking problem, and friendships across the group begin to unravel.

An All-Men Therapy Session Before Maui

Episode 11 starts on a positive note as Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick discuss planning for a family. The couple have faced challenges with conceiving, but Luke has been by her side throughout it all. Can we say that this might be the No. 1 couple in this group?

The cast is now gearing up for a group trip to Hawaii. However, as mentioned in the previous episode, the trip was really orchestrated by Luke, who asked Nia and Danny Booko to take credit for planning it. Luke’s motive is to propose to Kristen on the getaway.

Next, we head to Jesse Lally’s house, where the men gather for a group therapy session in hopes of clearing the air before their Hawaii trip—and there’s no shortage of emotional baggage. As Jesse puts it, “Only men can really understand what other men are going through.” Hmm.

One by one, they open up about their unresolved issues. Jesse confronts Luke about Kristen revealing Michelle’s alleged affair last season. Jax gets candid about his anger issues and how they’ve strained his marriage, friendships, and family. Danny apologizes to Jason for calling his wife a snake, while Jason admits he’s not sure if he can fully move past it until he sees changes in Danny.

Once again, Danny is called out for hiding drinks, this time looking genuinely stunned that the issue is resurfacing. In a surprising twist, he ends up agreeing with the guys, although we have to wonder if he’s simply going along with it to keep the peace.

“I know there are areas I need to work on, but anytime people come after my character, it doesn’t sit well with me,” he says in a confessional. The therapy session seems to have been a step in the right direction, especially with tensions high between Danny and Jason, but only time will tell how long this harmony lasts.

Dinner At El Coyote Goes South

Now it’s the women’s turn to meet up, but just like the tension between Jason and Danny, their wives — Janet and Nia — aren’t on good terms either. “Girls night, what’s the worst that can happen?” Janet shares in a confessional.

In her own confessional, Nia says that she’s frustrated with Janet putting her nose in other people’s relationships. “She just focuses on everyone else’s marriage and relationships, and I never hear about her marriage or how she’s doing. It’s interesting,” she admits. And, she’s right in that aspect.

Of course, the girl’s dinner is nothing but smooth. When Michelle Saniei lets Kristen know she’s upset that Kristen brought around Jenna, a friend that allegedly hooked up with Michelle’s now boyfriend, she tells her that it seems like she’s doing it on purpose, to rile Jesse up and ultimately ruin her relationship with Aaron. Janet decides to insert herself into the drama, which isn’t surprising as she also isn’t a big fan of Kristen. Jasmine Goode is shocked by Janet’s outbursts and Kristen decides to leave the table. If Michelle had done her research, she would have known that it was Zack Wickham who talked about Aaron’s past with Jesse.

Nia is visibly emotional at the table once Kristen leaves. She tells the group that the dinner has become “too intense” for her. Janet, who’s taken on a noticeably sharper tone with the friend group lately, fires back at Nia with a nasty comment: “It’s always tears when it’s intense.” The dig is so cutting that even Scheana Shay recognizes its a low blow coming from Janet.

“I don’t even recognize who Janet is,” Nia tells the cameras. “She’s not the friend that I used to know. If she keeps pushing me and attacking me, I don’t know if we are going to be able to continue having a friendship at all.”

As the group starts packing for Hawaii, both Janet and Nia tell their husbands that they really want to put their feud behind them. However, Kristen promises that she will have nothing to do with Janet, and this will certainly lead to some sort of clash on the tropical island.

Before heading to Hawaii, Brittany is set to meet Jax at a restaurant to discuss co-parenting their son, Cruz. But after receiving messages on social media claiming that Jax had been overindulging at his bar, despite working on himself in rehab, she decides to skip the meeting. Good for her.

Touchdown In Hawaii

Everyone arrives in Maui, Hawaii, and they all gather at the hotel pool. Both Jason and Danny want to get their wives together to squash their beef, so the trip is a fun one. Janet shockingly apologizes to Nia, telling her that she had too much to drink at the restaurant. Both Nia and Danny apologize to Janet, and all seems okay, for now.

Nia shares that she will still keep her “guard up” when it comes to Janet despite her apology. As she should.

The episode concludes with Jesse spiraling as he watches Michelle and Aaron frolicing on the beach. Flashbacks highlight all the moments he questioned his marriage, with mounting signs suggesting that Aaron may have been the man Michelle cheated with all along.

Two hours after the group has dinner, Jeese is seen confronting Aaron. “Did you or did you not cross a line when I was married to Michelle? Emotional. Physical. In any way did you cross a line?” The episode ends on a tense cliffhanger, but Aaron’s wide-eyed reaction might have already given us the answer.
