A man who was stabbed to death outside a home in Sydney’s west last night has been identified as 21-year-old entrepreneur Luke Manassa.
Manassa was found dead in the driveway of a home on Driftway Drive in Pemulwuy about 10.45pm yesterday.
Police said the man was attacked outside the property, suffering several stab wounds.
”He was attacked outside the premises and attempted to get away, however, he succumbed to his injuries,” Detective Superintendent Simon Glasser said.
“He was attacked outside the premises and attempted to get away, however, he succumbed to his injuries,” Glasser said.
”All we know at this point is he was stabbed a number of times… this is serious high-level violence that we can’t tolerate.”
In a podcast, Manassa framed himself as a young businessman. He graduated from UTS last year.
“I told my dad, I’m going to buy an apartment,” he said in the podcast.
“I’m going to buy a property at the end of this year, he says ‘yeah, show me’.”
9News understands he was pulled from a car and attacked.
“My brother explained that he heard multiple screams,” a witness told 9News.
“I heard a man screaming for ten seconds and then another woman screaming loudly for ten seconds.”
Glasser said the man was known to police, but was not a well-known crime figure.
He also said police had received a description of two men wearing dark clothing running from the scene.
Police said they had “no idea” why he was targeted.
Officers scoured the area this morning, but have been unable to locate a weapon.
