DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Dillon County authorities are looking for two “armed and dangerous” suspects after a woman was shot and killed Thursday afternoon at South of the Border.

Aalyiah Monique Priest, 22, and Ja’Heem Antwan Pernell, 19, both of Hamer, are facing murder charges in the shooting, according to the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office. Pernell is also facing a charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Deputies responded at about 2:45 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the Pantry West store and found the woman already dead, the sheriff’s office said. Her name has not been released.

Deputies also arrested Tina Rebecca Pernell, 39, of Hamer, in connection with the shooting. She was charged with accessory after the fact of murder and booked into the Dillon County Detention Center. Deputies expect to file additional charges against all three suspects.

The sheriff’s office said Priest and Ja’Heem Pernell “should be considered armed and dangerous” and said anyone who sees them should immediately contact law enforcement and not approach them.

No additional details about the investigation were immediately available. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Ryan Bethea at 843-841-3707 or to email him at rbethea@dillonsheriff.org. You can also contact Detective Troy Jones at tjones@dillonsheriff.org or through the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
