The Oscar-winning actress debuted a dramatic mullet for her latest role, and while fans are buzzing about the cut, one of her daughter’s was brought to tears.

Recently the 49-year-old appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote her new project, revealing what her family and friends thought about her popular 80s hairstyle.

“This was not a prop mullet. This was a real mullet?” the host questioned.

“No, that’s a real mullet,” the mother-of-two confirms.

“You had to be around friends and family with an actual mullet,” Meyers responded. “And so I’m wondering, you know, I know you have a loving family. You’ve got a couple of kids. How did they feel about the mullet?”

“I have two girls, and they’re very…they’re mostly very girly. And they think of me as a princess,” Theron says of her daughters Jackson, 12, and August, 9. “And they want Mom to look like a princess.”

Theron continued, “But they came back from school. I was in my bathroom and I was getting it cut and it had already been colored. And I just remember looking over and they both came into the room really excited, and then they just both froze. And they just went…and one started crying.”

“One literally started bawling her eyes out,” she said. “And I had to actually sit down with her and say, ‘We all get to be who we want to be. And right now, Mom wants to wear a mullet.’ I don’t tell you what to do with your hair.”

Her daughter replied, “‘I still don’t like it,’ ” Theron mimicked.

In a different interview with Extra, Theron admitted that her daughter August actually gave her mom thumbs up for the haircut, “digging” the look.

Terri Seymour asked Theron, “What do they say? Would it be ‘snatched’? Do we say you’re looking ‘snatched’?”

To which the Fast and Furious actress responded, “Apparently, I’m not allowed to say it. There’s so many things I’m just not allowed to say anymore. I’m still learning my way.”

Theron went on to say that there are many other words in her daughters’ slang vocabulary that she has been banned from using.

The Old Guard 2 will hit Netflix for streaming on July 2 and you can decide for yourself if Theron’s mullet is “snatched” or not.
