Melissa Gorga shared a video with her fans and followers on Instagram on Thursday in which she revealed she’d been in a “major” car accident.

Along with a photo of her injuries, which she described as “pretty bad,” the 46-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star recounted what took place before and after she was T-boned by another vehicle on the way home from the dry cleaners.

“My first major car accident. So scary. I’m fine, but it really does make you count your blessings and realize that things can literally change in one day,” Melissa wrote in the caption of her post. 

Then, in a video, she admitted that she’d never been in an accident that bad before.

“I was at the dry cleaner. I pulled out. Somebody came, T-boned me. I had no idea that it was even — I was shocked. My airbags exploded. White powder started flying into my face from the airbags. [The] car was leaking something. I was so nervous. I couldn’t get out. I was like in shock,” she revealed. “My door wouldn’t open because of the airbag, and I was scared that it was like gonna blow up. I was really scared that it was gonna turn on fire. So I was having like, a panic attack in my car.”

According to Melissa, she was “okay” after the crash, as was the other car. However, her legs “were all bruised up.”

“I’m pretty bruised up everywhere. Pretty bad,” she continued. 

Reflecting on how fast everything happened, Melissa told her online audience, “You just never know what your day is gonna consist of.”

“I never in a million years thought I was gonna meet my girlfriends for lunch, stop at the dry cleaner, and then have a total car … literally and get into something that could’ve been really scary,” she explained. “I think about my kids when this happens, and like it could just happen to anyone at any time.”

“I’m like shaky from it, and I just think it’s, you know, makes you count your blessings,” she added. “It could have ended up very differently … [I’m] happy that I’m alive and that I came home to my kids tonight.”

Melissa also posted an image on her Instagram Story in which she told viewers she “banged up both legs pretty bad.”

After sharing the news, Melissa was met with support from her RHONJ co-stars.

“So grateful you are ok,” wrote Margaret Josephs, 58.

“Thank god you’re okay,” Rachel Fuda, 34, agreed.

Meanwhile, Brittany Mattessich, 35, posted a praying emoji and a heart emoji.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is on pause ahead of its 15th season.
