SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — The 10th Annual Memorial Health Championship is one of just 20 stops stateside along the Korn Ferry Tour, giving Central Illinois golf fans an up-close look at near-PGA Tour-level talent.

“Something like this is just as big as our Korn Ferry Tour championship, believe it or not, it just gets so much love out here, so much attention,” said tour media official Taylor Cardonna.

Unfortunately, Round 2 of this year’s tournament was unable to be completed after storms and later nightfall.

Four Illini are in this year’s field, with two completing their rounds before the delay and two still with holes left to play. Adrien Dumont de Chassart and D.A. Points finished play, but will not make cut.

Luke Guthries entered the day as the leader and sits tied for second at -13 with five second-round holes still to play. Recent Illinois grad Jackson Buchanan started his day with a birdie on his first hole and finished half of the second round, tied at ninth at -10.

Play will resume Saturday morning before the third round begins.
