Laura Ingraham struggles to keep a straight face as senator makes X-rated on-air gaffe

Fox News host Laura Ingraham was left struggling to keep a straight face after a Republican Senator used the word ‘anal’ instead of ‘annals’ live on-air.

Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno appeared on ‘The Ingraham Angle’ on Thursday to discuss President Donald Trump’s strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Moreno claimed a Democrat had given private praise for the attacks while in a confidential hearing on Thursday when he made the blunder.

He told Ingraham: ‘[They] said to General Kaine “that operation that you ran will go down in the anals of American history as the greatest military operation ever”.’

Moreno had intended to say annals, but mispronounced it as anals. Ingraham gave a quick side eye to those behind the scenes on set before continuing.

He then accused Democrats of hypocrisy and political sabotage, saying they ‘do everything possible politically to undermine the administration’.

‘This is not what they believe. This is just pure political grotesque behavior. It infuriates me’, he said.

He also refused to name the Democrat who he claims made the comment to Kaine praising the operation.

U.S. stealth bombers dropped 12 deep penetrator bombs, called bunker busters, on the Fordo nuclear facility and two on the Natanz site over the weekend.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Gen. Dan ‘Raizin’ Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Capitol Hill to give the classified briefings on the attack on Thursday.

Senators emerged with sharply diverging assessments of the bombings. Republicans called the mission a clear success while Democrats expressed deep skepticism.

Many Republicans left satisfied, though their assessments of how much Iran´s nuclear program was set back by the bombing varied.

Sen. Tom Cotton said a ‘major blow’ and ‘catastrophic damage’ had been dealt to Iran’s facilities.

‘Their operational capability was obliterated. There is nobody working there tonight. It was highly effective. There´s no reason to hit those sites anytime soon,’ said Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.

Democrats remained doubtful and criticized Trump for not giving Congress more information.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer of New York said the briefing ‘raised more questions than it answered.’

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the attack as a success, but a US intelligence report has since emerged that seems to discredit that.

According to the preliminary report, it was found that Iran’s nuclear program had been set back only a few months.

The report cited seven individuals briefed on a battle damage assessment done by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) of the Iranian sites.

It directly contradicted President Trump’s and the defense secretary’s claim that the sites were destroyed – and clearly enraged the administration.

Hegseth said: ‘You want to call it destroyed, you want to call it defeated, you want to call it obliterated, This was an historically successful attack.’

The defense secretary was joined by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, to tout to reporters the ‘historic success’ of last weekend’s B-2 bombing run.

A fired-up Hegseth was also adamant that journalists in the Pentagon press corps are decidedly anti-Trump.
