LEESBURG, Fla. – A Mount Dora man turned himself in on Friday when his father brought him to the Leesburg Police Department after a fatal shooting that evening.
Kameryn Pickard, 18, faces charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy -solicitation, records show.
Officers responded around 7 p.m. Friday to reports of a man shot in the 1000 block of Tuskegee Street, a Leesburg police spokesperson said in the release. There, officers and EMS personnel rendered aid to a 20-year-old man who was then taken to UF Health Leesburg Hospital and pronounced dead, the release states.
While Leesburg detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene of the shooting, Pickard‘s father brought him to the police department, where he turned himself in and was arrested following an interview with investigators, according to the release.
Appropriate charges are pending determination between Leesburg detectives and the State Attorney’s Office, police said, adding the victim’s name would not be shared at the time of this writing.
Pickard is being held on no bond for the time being, records show.
