Trump denies making Iran offer, talks

President Trump clarified on Monday that he is not engaging in discussions with Iran and has not provided them with any offers, emphasizing that the US airstrikes have completely destroyed Tehran’s nuclear facilities.

Trump expressed his frustration in response to reports suggesting that his administration was considering assisting Iran in acquiring up to $30 billion to develop a civilian nuclear energy program.

Sen. Chris Coons (D-De.) had also claimed Trump was eyeing a sanctions-relieving deal like one pushed by former President Barack Obama.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump criticized Democratic Senator Chris Coons and highlighted that he has not made any concessions to Iran, contrasting his approach with that of the Obama administration, which he claimed had provided billions of dollars as part of the JCPOA agreement, which he referred to as the “road to a Nuclear Weapon.”

Trump has repeatedly said the strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities destroyed the nation’s nuclear capabilities.

“It was obliterated like nobody’s ever seen before. And that meant the end to their nuclear ambitions, at least for a period of time,” he told Fox News on Sunday.

Trump, meanwhile, has since threatened to go after lefty outlets — including CNN and the New York Times — after reports last week contradicted his claims that the strikes had wiped out Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

He also suggested potentially coercing the reporters into revealing who leaked them the “low confidence” preliminary Defense Intelligence Agency assessment that said his strikes on Iran may have only set the regime’s nuclear program back by a few months.
