Todd Chrisley and his family are beginning a new chapter of their lives after he and his wife Julie Chrisley were fully pardoned by President Donald Trump in May.

“We owe thanks to God … and God touched President Trump’s heart,” Todd said during a recent sit-down interview with Lara Trump on Fox News’ My View With Lara Trump, per TV Insider. “God led the people to advocate for us. And so I’m grateful because every night I would pray that God would return me home to my wife and my children. And he did that, so I’m grateful.”

Todd and Julie were convicted in 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion, for which they were sentenced to 12 and seven years respectively.

Savannah Chrisley, who advocated for her parents’ release while they were in prison, also recalled the “surreal” experience of seeing Trump get elected, saying, “We knew that was our only way out.”

She also recounted the experience of receiving a call from President Trump when he pardoned her parents. “When we heard President Trump’s voice, literally Grayson just started — tears just started rolling,” she recalled. “And seeing the look on his face that like, now this has all finally come to an end, it was so surreal. And honestly, I was shocked when he called me.”

The Chrisleys wasted no time at all before getting back in front of the camera. In addition to their appearances on Fox News and ABC News, filming has already resumed on their new, untitled reality series with Lifetime, which is expected to release later this year.

Per the official logline from Lifetime, “The Chrisleys don’t know best anymore, but they’re doing their best to be there for each other. The family faces the challenge of carrying on the Chrisley name and legacy on their own with only phone calls and brief visits with their incarcerated parents,” via People.

Todd confirmed during a recent press conference that the new series resumed filming “as soon as [he and Julie] got home” from prison. But Todd and Julie may also return to their roots in Charleston, South Carolina, with plans of developing a new series that follows them as they renovate and open a new hotel.

“You know, I think we will always have a presence in Nashville, but I have a pull for Julie and I to go back to South Carolina — to Charleston — to that area. And we have plans for what we wanna do,” Todd said, per People. “We have hopes of acquiring a hotel — a mansion — there, that we are gonna convert into a hotel, and we’re gonna create a show around that.”

The family will also be the subject of a new documentary from ABC News, The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup, which is streaming now on Hulu.

This will mark their official return to television since Chrisley Knows Best, which ran on the USA Network for nine seasons before Todd and Julie were convicted.
