Texas Woman Arrested After Police Find 4-Year-Old Dead Inside Daycare Van

A Texas woman is facing charges after police say she left a 4-year-old inside a daycare van Friday, at the Learning Club Preschool in Brownsville.

According to ValleyCentral, 36-year-old Karen Silva is facing a felony charge of injury to a child causing death, after Brownsville police found the child unresponsive inside the van, parked in the 3900 block of Paredes Line Road.

First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

“Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 4-year-old child had been located inside a daycare van unresponsive. Brownsville EMS responded to the scene where the child was pronounced deceased,” Brownsville police said on Facebook.

The victim’s name and manner of death has not yet been revealed. Police will provide additional updates as the investigation continues.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this incredibly difficult time,” police said.
