TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Showers will increase in coverage again today and storms will generally move inland. A couple of rounds of rain are possible for some, especially along the coast.

The high rain chances will stick around through Friday and somewhat into the weekend, although it won’t rain all day.

The fourth of July will have passing, mainly afternoon downpours that drift toward the coast and offshore in the evening. Most spots will be drying out by 8 or 9pm.

Temperatures over the next few days will be several degrees below average with highs in the mid-80s with extra clouds and rain passing through.

Average rain chances return this weekend with scattered showers and storms expected each day, but again not raining all day.

The National Hurricane Center has increased their chances of possible subtropical or tropical development near Florida to a 40%.

A weak depression or storm could form by the weekend but the forecast remains the same with heavy rain and up to 6 or 7 inches of rain through the weekend. This will lead to minor flooding from rainfall for some with the highest risk in our coastal counties.

The 90s return next week with a little more sunshine expected and the unsettled pattern dissipating.
