Brad Pitt’s neighbors have suggested security at his Los Angeles mansion may have been compromised in the days leading up to a dramatic break-in.
They assert that they hadn’t noticed an unmarked private patrol car that is typically parked just outside the actor’s driveway for a number of days leading up to the daring raid.
In Los Feliz, Pitt’s residence was burglarized during a late-night break-in on June 25 while the renowned 61-year-old actor was away promoting his latest movie, F1: The Movie.
This incident marked the most recent in a series of burglaries afflicting affluent neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles and Southern California, where a growing number of celebrities have fallen victim to such crimes.
Locals told the Daily Mail the 24-hour security car had been a constant presence since Pitt bought the 2,100 sq ft home from an oil heiress in March 2023 — just a ten-minute walk from ex-wife Angelina Jolie’s $25million estate.
But in the days before the break-in, the neighbor said they could not see the vehicle — or the guard inside it — leading them to speculate about laxer security measures.
‘Ever since Mr Pitt moved in two years ago there was always a security car in the street, day and night,’ said one neighbor, whose home overlooks Pitt’s.
‘It suddenly disappeared a few days before the burglary but we have no idea why.’

Crime scene investigators swept through Pitt’s home on June 26 Thursday looking for clues
By Monday, the regular security detail had returned, with a male guard seen sitting in a small black car outside the property — though he declined to speak to the Daily Mail.
And it looked as though security had been bolstered, with a second vehicle, a black Prius, also parked at the top of Pitt’s steep driveway.
Earlier that day, neighbors spotted workmen from a glass installation company arriving at the house, believed to be replacing a window smashed by the intruders during the break-in.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told The Daily Mail that officers responded to an incident at a home on Edgemont Street on June 25 around 10.30pm.
‘Three suspects broke into the residence via the front window then fled the location with miscellaneous property,’ they said. ‘This is the only information available.’
Investigators have not released details about the trio, nor have they confirmed the identity of the homeowner.
Crime scene investigators descended on the Pitt’s home the day after the raid to search for clues to hopefully lead police to the burglars.
One source told the Los Angeles Times they smashed a window to enter the three-bedroom, two-bathroom property and made ‘a real mess.’
They allegedly stole some of Pitt’s possessions and overturned his furniture as though they were ‘looking for what they could take of value,’ a source told the publication.
Pitt’s belongings were tossed all over the floor during the crime, said a police insider.
Still, Pitt has had some good news to soften the blow — his new movie is already racing up the box office charts.

The seat-of-your-pants film reportedly cost $350 million to make and market and raked in an impressive $144 million combined in the U.S. and abroad in the first three days after launching, boosting Pitt’s reputation as a bankable Hollywood superstar
Made by Apple Original Films and distributed by Warner Bros., F1: The Movie raked in an impressive $144 million globally on its opening weekend.
Pitt’s glamorous girlfriend, 32-year-old jewelry executive Ines de Ramon — who he began dating in 2022 — has been accompanying him abroad during the press tour for his new film.
Also starring Javier Bardem, with cameos from F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and others, the film is a collaboration with the sport’s governing body, FIA.
Hamilton, who won seven Formula One World Drivers’ Championships, is also one of the film’s co-producers, alongside legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
Pitt plays down-on-his-luck racing driver Sonny Hayes, who battles his demons as well as a hotshot rookie rival nipping at his heels, played by British costar Damson Idris.
Meanwhile, his neighbors also remarked that the star keeps to himself when he is home and doesn’t fraternize with them.
One neighbor who lives directly next door to Pitt told Daily Mail she has never spoken with him.
‘It would be nice if he invited the neighbors over so we could get to know each other,’ said another.
‘He hasn’t spoken with us at all in the two years he’s been living here.
‘It would help with community relations and perhaps we could exchange phone numbers with him so he knows what’s going on and be part of the neighborhood watch.’
Pitt purchased the home from Eileen Getty in March 2023 for $5.5 million.
The same neighbor commented that there were a few complaints when Pitt moved in due to large trucks parked on the street.
There were also objections when a porta potty was left in the street later on for workers to use during construction work.
A spokesperson for Pitt declined to comment.
